Elizabeth Goold, MSN, RN, PHN, has worked as a medical cannabis consultant since 2016. Her interest in medical cannabis began before then, after being diagnosed with a rare cancer and undergoing treatment. With the goal of maintaining her status of being a cancer survivor in remission, Elizabeth began researching the benefits of alternative medicine and it’s role in improving quality of life. This led her to discover the medicinal value of the many molecules of the cannabis plant. She became a member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association (ACNA) and the International Cannabis Research Society. She has a certificate of completion of ACNA’s core curriculum and keeps herself constantly updated on the latest in research and treatment.
Elizabeth holds a masters degree in Advanced Practice/Community Health Nursing. Her passion for learning led her to appreciate the body’s Endocannabinoid system. Her current area of focus includes studying and teaching the functions of this system. She has taught seminars to nursing instructors and students and will continue her mission to raise awareness in the general medical community.
Elizabeth’s passion for and commitment to the field of medical cannabis is enhanced by her passion for nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills and her masters degree at California State University, San Bernardino. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1995, beginning her career in hospital critical care and emergency room nursing. Elizabeth’s experience includes home health, public health, travel medicine, tuberculosis, communicable disease management and prevention, HIV/AIDS, chronic illnesses, gero-psychiatric nursing and nursing administration.
Elizabeth spent several years as a school nurse, working with medically fragile children ages 2-12, helping them succeed in the classroom while providing support and education to their parents. While working with medically fragile children she gained a strong working knowledge of seizure disorders, autism, cerebral palsy and numerous rare pediatric syndromes. Adding to her experience working with persons of all ages, Elizabeth currently oversees a student health center at a community college where the average age of the student population is between 18-35.
Under the realm of alternative treatment methods, Elizabeth is a Certified Horse Specialist in the use of the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) model. Under this model, Elizabeth utilizes her knowledge and love of horses to assist persons in coping with the everyday stressors of life.
In every aspect of her professional career, Elizabeth strives to improve the quality of life of every person she encounters. She has witnessed the benefits of medical Cannabis and will work with you to achieve your personal health goals.
